Money Pro, a revolutionary financial management app, set out to empower seniors to embrace the digital age with confidence and to make financial independence a reality for the older demographic. Tailored specifically for this demographic, Money Pro boasts a simple UI design, assisted features, and a Smart Card System to streamline financial tasks. The app offers income and expense tracking, budgeting tools, debt management, and secure bank connections. It reimagines budgeting with a digitalized Envelope Budgeting system.
The primary goal of Money Pro's UX design project was to create an app that simplifies financial management for seniors, focusing on user-friendliness, data security, and guided tech transition.
The project aimed to address the following pain points:
- Complexity of financial apps.
- Tech anxiety among seniors.
- Privacy concerns.
- Lack of familiarity with digital tools.
- Difficulty in data entry.
- Need for family collaboration in financial decisions.
Research:
Money Pro's user persona centered around seniors aged 60+, primarily relying on pensions for income, seeking effective budgeting tools, valuing convenience, and concerned about data privacy.
A competitive analysis, comparing Money Pro with apps like Mint, YNAB, and Goodbudget, guided feature selection. Key features included budget tracking, credit score monitoring, expense categorization, user-friendly UI, robust data security, responsive customer support, learning resources, and user onboarding.
Money Proโs information architecture is focused on essential information presentation. User Flow was created to better understand the userโs behaviour.
Wireframes were developed to visualize initial design concepts, emphasizing budget tracking, credit score monitoring, expense categorization, user data security, responsive customer support, learning resources, and user onboarding.
Final Design
The final design of the Money Pro app adhered to several key principles and incorporated user-friendly features that catered to the needs of financially secure seniors:
- Simplicity: The design focused on simplicity and clarity. A consistent font and a limited color palette were employed to enhance user understanding and minimize confusion.
- Smart Card System: At the heart of Money Pro's design is the innovative Smart Card System. This system identifies and prioritizes crucial financial information for seniors, presenting it in a straightforward and easily accessible manner. The Smart Card System helps seniors make informed financial decisions without feeling overwhelmed.
- Security: Given the demographic's heightened concerns regarding data privacy and security, the design includes robust security features that protect users' sensitive financial information.
